Thanks for the question. I didn't fully trust both of the favorites, but calculated that their best efforts each were best in the race. Tried to get a price underneath assuming that they both wouldn't fire their best efforts since Bourbon Day had never been at Churchill and Money Supply didn't get much out of his 2 most recent blowout losses this summer vs. tougher. My thought was: Why take a rather short-ish price on the exacta with BOTH capable horses who had some question marks ... Try to work a price underneath with the each of the most likely winners if either ran their best race.

Lots of players play logical combinations as "back-up" plays to cover some potential losses. I'm always more aggressive and steer away from back-up plays. I'm happy to have more money on the combinations when successful rather than spreading money thinner, catching some back-up plays now and then, but not hitting my preferred plays with the amount of play that I could have had by being more assertive.

Jeremy, I don’t understand the betting strategy here. The two top picks were on top, why didn’t you have them underneath in case they run 1-2? Not trying to be an ass, I just don’t follow.
