Jeremy's Final Keeneland Saturday Insights
Weather-wise and track conditions-wise, probably the best of the first 7 days of the Spring Meeting will be today. Hope that translates to the windows. Co-features are the Lexington (Race 9), where I’m more confident in the late-running price play Hypnus than I am in the Jenny Wiley (Race 10), where my top choice may be lone speed in Kehoe Beach. Thwarting Chad Brown in that one with his Excellent Truth may prove a tougher task.
Key plays on the card for me remain Hypnus (Race 9), but before that Mr. Bob in Race 2 and Gamblers Tail in Race 4. The case of Gamblers Tail strengthened after the scratch of Tunisian Spring, the biggest threat I perceived.
Look for a potentially huge day for Luis Saez. He was back riding yesterday with 2 winners after missing 2 days following a Tuesday spill. He’s got several live mounts today that line up with my handicapping.
Here are the updated picks following announced changes. We did lose our 30-1 morning line longshot chance in Race 7, Sinister Smile, to scratches.
